Everything You're Wondering About SAUV, Answered.

Everything You're Wondering About SAUV, Answered.

If you've never seen a women's top where the sleeves snap on and off before, you probably have questions. Here are the ones we hear most often.

What is SAUV exactly? SAUV is a line of women's clothing with two categories: a base - the tank, bodice, etc. - and attachments - like sleeves - that attach via hidden snaps under the seams. For example, you buy the tank with a pair of short sleeves as a starting point. Then you can add any SAUV sleeve style to change the whole look. Same tank. Different sleeves. Different outfit.

How do the snaps work? Are they noticeable? The snaps sit under the seam line, so they're completely invisible when the sleeve is on. You can't see them, and you can't feel them from the outside. When the attachment is off, there's a small clean seam point - not distracting. Snapping an attachment (like a sleeve) on or off takes about five seconds.

Will the sleeves stay on throughout the day? Yes. They're designed to hold through a full day - moving, sitting, reaching, everything. They're not going to pop off when you raise your hand in a meeting. If you wanted to remove them, you'd have to intend to — there's a deliberate pull involved.

Are sleeves from different sets compatible with each other? Yes. All SAUV sleeves are designed to attach to any SAUV tank. The Everyday Long Sleeves work on the Moderne tank. The Drama Queen works on the Bijou. The snap placement is standardized across the whole line so everything mixes. One exception: The Ducote dress bodice has a separate design and does not accept snap-on sleeves.

How many outfit combinations can I actually get? One base set plus three sleeve options gives you at least four distinct looks - the tank alone plus three sleeve combinations. Two sets and four sleeve options gives you eight to ten distinct outfits from pieces that fit in a carry-on bag. The more sleeves you add, the more the combinations multiply.

Is the quality worth the price? Sets start at $135. Sleeves start at $60. It's not fast fashion pricing, and it's not meant to be. The materials are organic cotton and recycled nylon. Manufacturing is high-quality with fair wages. We publish our cost breakdown on every product page - not as a marketing move, but because we think you should know what you're paying for. If you wear a SAUV set twice a week for a year, the cost per wear is lower than most things hanging in your closet right now.

How do I wash them? Cold water, air dry. The snaps hold through regular washing without any special treatment. Nothing complicated.

What's the story behind SAUV? SAUV was started by two sisters - a climate strategist and a designer - who were both tired of a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. The name comes from SAUVER, French for "to save." The snap system is patent-pending. It started with a feeling everyone knows. We turned it into a top that solves it.

Where are SAUV pieces made? Both domestically and abroad, in factories with the highest quality control and fair wages. We're transparent about our manufacturing and share our full cost breakdown on each product page, because we think that information matters.
